Alta Stoddard Earl
Washington, Utah – Our beloved mother, Alta Stoddard Earl, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on October 31, 2025, at the age of 96.
She was born in West Point, Utah on December 11, 1928, to Louis M. Stoddard and Lillie Agnes Flint, being delivered in the family home by her Grandmother Edith Stoddard. Her sister Irene and brother Howard welcomed her. She had a childhood of hard work, school and friends which helped to mold a woman of strength and dedication. She attended local schools in North Davis County and graduated from her beloved Davis High School in 1947.
She married Kenneth W. Earl on May 28, 1947, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they shared 65 years of marriage until Ken’s passing in 2012. They worked together as a loving team raising a family of three children.
Shortly after her marriage, she went to work at Clearfield State Bank, which was the start of her career in banking and mortgage lending. She worked at Prudential Federal Savings, eventually becoming the first woman Vice-President, she then went to work at American Equity Corporation and later working at First Federal Savings and Loans, retiring from that career in 1994. She was then involved working as a Real Estate Agent for Lane Realty in Bountiful until she and Ken moved to St. Goerge, Utah where she was associated with Holiday Realty. She also served on the Board of Heritage Savings Bank in St. George.
Mom loved to travel with family and friends, play golf and bridge, entertain family and friends and was known to keep in touch with many of her dear classmates from Davis High. She lost her eyesight and was sad that she could no longer do the things that she so dearly loved.
Alta is survived by her three children: Richard Kenneth Earl (Karen), Kathy Jean Morris and Roger David Earl (Colleen). She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Garry Earl and many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. She was greeted in Heaven by her husband, Kenneth; her parents; her sister, Irene Stoddard Flint; and brother, Howard F, Stoddard; along with her in-laws and many dear friends that she remained close to over the years. We honor her and will miss her wise counsel.
A special thank you to Dixie Home Hospice for their loving care of our mother for the last few months of her life.
