Alan Edward Heninger

Alan Edward Heninger was born on August 8, 1954 to Donald Edward and Lucile Pack Heninger in Ogden, UT. He passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in Ogden.

He attended Ogden City schools and graduated from Bonneville High School.

Alan married Geraldine “Geri” Johnson on April 2, 1976 in Ogden, UT. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on July 29, 1995. Together they have three children.

He joined the Air Force Reserves and worked at HAFB on the F-16 planes as well as Weber Basin Job Corps, where he truly loved the students there.

Alan’s grandkids were his life, the light of his life. He loved sports, going for rides, listening to music and live concerts. Growing up he was a school athlete, excelling in basketball and football. He also coached girls softball.

He is survived by his wife, Geri; children, Jared (Louisa) Heninger, Heidi (Jay) Smith and Robby (Colleen) Heninger; six grandchildren, Bridger (Mei), Hunter (Kenzie), Chaise (Tara), Kody, Sydney and Hadley; great-grandson, Bentley; siblings, Randy (Shawna) Heninger and Sandra (Leon) Pierce. Preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Karlee.

The family would like to thank Dr. Karren, Dr. Kerwin, Wade, RN, and all of the staff at the McKay Dee ICU.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
