Al James

Alvah “Al” Louis James, 73, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 at his home. He was born July 13, 1933 in Boulder City, Nevada to Louis Russell and Margaret Virginia Hancock James. He was raised and educated in Ogden, Utah. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during peacetime/ post-Korean War. On July 30, 1956, Al married Sherroll Mae Wright in Ogden. They lived in Layton until 1974 and then made their home in West Point. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Al retired from Hill Air Force Base after 35 years of service. He also worked for A.E.S., Aerospace Engineering Specialists. He was a member of various motorcycle clubs including the Dusters, the Ogden Cycle Association (OCA) and the HOG’s. He enjoyed motorcycling, motorcycle racing, raising animals, woodworking, custom mechanics and working with his hands. Al is survived by his wife, Sherroll; four sons, James (Jodi) James, Idaho Falls, ID; Russell (Vicki) James, Hooper; Paul James, West Point; and Dean James, West Point; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Busche. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
