“Together Again”

Adelia Maria Martinez, 92, passed away early on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. She was born to Alfredo V. Talamante and Maria Angelina De Los Angeles Salazar on August 25, 1929. Born and raised in Edith, Colorado, Adelia settled with her family in Ogden in 1952.

She married Isaac Jose Martinez on January 14, 1946. Isaac passed away on July 29, 1999 after 53 years of marriage.

She worked as a seamstress for many years after her children were raised making women’s clothes for Catalina. Later she was a housekeeper with Nice Corporation, retiring before her husband passed away.

Adelia loved gardening, crocheting and hated cooking. Most of all she doted on her grandchildren, great, great-greats, and “not so great.” Mom’s family extended to 13 children, 37 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren, and 50 great-great-grandchildren. 

Adelia is survived by her children, Della Quintana of Clinton, Ida (Joe) Garcia of Clinton, Celina (David) Mestas of Layton, Benjamin Martinez of Ogden, Kathy Francis of Ogden, Filemon (Debbie) Martinez of Layton, Pamela (Nick) Martinez of Murray, Isabell (Rudy) Gomez of Perry, Gary (Vada) Martinez of Spokane, WA, and Kelly Martinez of Clearfield; siblings, Beatrice (Alfredo) Talamante, Andres “Andy” (Della) Talamante, and Angie (John) Martinez all of Edith, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac; son, Ray; daughters, Orpha and Lorraine; grandson, Gilbert “Bobo” Martinez; parents; and 11 siblings.
