Abbey Nicole Murnahan (maiden name Henry) passed away at her home on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Abbey was born in Cape May Court House, New Jersey on October 12, 1992, to parents, David Hamilton Henry (deceased) and Lori Ann Henry. Abbey lived many places in her life, since her father was in the Coast Guard. After being born in New Jersey, she moved to North Dakota for a few years, then her family moved to Delaware. After approximately 4 years there, her dad was reassigned to Hawaii. After a 5 year stay in Hawaii, Abbey and her family moved to Utah.
Abbey received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Weber State University in 2021 and her Masters in Criminal Justice in 2024.
Abbey had a few jobs in her life; she followed her brother working as a janitor at Wasatch Elementary. Then she started working at Weber State while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree. During that time, she started working at Davids Bridal. After having her fill of Bridezilla’s and desiring a more science-oriented career, Abbey started working at Nelson Labs as a Lab Analyst. Abbey had a passion for Biology which led her to her next job at North Davis Sewer District. She really enjoyed her work there as a Lab Technician testing the quality of the water after it was treated.
Abbey was a very colorful person and always open to trying something new. Abbey’s heart was always calling her outdoors. Hiking, camping, gardening, and anything in between was where you could find Abbey during any free time she had. She loved to share that experience with her friends, dogs, and her two kids most of all. Abbey also loved being on the water. Her trips to Bear Lake to kayak or paddle board were a regular summer activity. She also liked to stay home with her kids and cook for them. When Abbey was enjoying some quiet time, you could find her wrapped up in a good book, crocheting or painting and drawing. She had a talent for art and dabbled in photography. Abbey also had a wild side; she was a regular spectator of demolition derbies. She also enjoyed riding her motorcycle, to and from work, and all along the Wasatch front. If Abbey was going out, you could bet she was dressed to impress. From cowboy boots, rhinestones, and jeans for a Ned Ledoux concert to a leather dress and high heels for Nelly, Abbey could fit in anywhere. Once college football season started, Abbey was cheering on her Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was a diehard fan that was ready to defend them against any smack talk.
Abbey is survived by her two children, Liam and Sylvana; her mother, Lori Henry of Rapid City, SD; brother, Jacob (Alexis) Henry of Ogden, UT; sister, Noni (Mitch Mckeithan) Henry of Rapid City, SD; nieces, Emma and Lillian Henry; and nephew, Cody Henry.
