Aaron Louis Hansen

January 6, 1981 — April 10, 2023

Aaron Louis Hansen, 42, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, following a brief illness. He was born January 6, 1981, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Wayne Louis and Trina Martin Hansen. Aaron had fond memories growing up in Slaterville and Farr West, Utah, and graduated from Fremont High School Class of 1999. “SILVERWOLVES!”

He met Katilyn “Katie” Spencer and knew he wanted to be married in the temple and sealed for all eternity. Aaron and Katie were married on November 29, 2008, in the Bountiful Temple. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. Aaron and Katie enjoyed serving as Primary Teachers for many years and made a great team.

Aaron loved taking pictures and enjoyed taking them for weddings, graduations and family get togethers. He loved spending time outdoors whether it was in the mountains, watching the elk, moose and deer, spending time at the cabin in Bear Lake or being at Yellowstone, Antelope Island, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon or Logan Canyon. Aaron enjoyed visiting family members in Arizona, Virginia Beach, and Gettysburg. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed bringing smiles to children’s faces as he played Santa for many years; he loved the children, and they loved him. (Thanks Aunt Mary for making his suit.) Grandma Betty held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed visiting with her at Fellowship Manor. The residents at Fellowship looked forward to him coming as Santa every year.

He enjoyed watching the WWE Wrestling matches on Monday nights each year with his brother-in-law, Garrett and father-in-law, David. They loved watching the matches and spending time together. Aaron was also a fan of any type of movie whether it was Star Wars, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers or Fiddler on the Roof. He enjoyed all of the plays at the Pickleville Playhouse in Bear Lake or Desert Star. He had a gift for telling stories and making others laugh. He was always willing to help anyone in need with their computers or phones; no matter what time of the day or night without complaining even if he was busy. Aaron loved getting together with his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Aaron is survived by his wife, Katie; parents, Wayne and Trina Hansen; brothers, Justin (Emily) and their children, Austin (Ty), Ashley (Stockton), Eliza, Alec, Anna, Aiden, DJ, Xahria, and Ellexia; and Colton (Teresa) and their children, Benjamen, Lydia, and Makayla; grandmothers, Betty Perry Hansen and Diane Merrill (Richard) Widerburg; mother-in-law, Lori Spencer; and brothers-in-law, Garrett Spencer and Kenny (Michelle). He was preceded in death by his angel twins; his grandfathers, David L. Hansen and Larry D. Martin; father-in-law, David Spencer; uncle, Brad Stromberg; and cousin, John Dudley Moser.
