A. William Reyns OGDEN – A. William Reyns, 92, died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Ogden Regional Medical Center due to complications of a blood clot in his leg. He was born June 5, 1914 in The Hague, Southern Holland, Netherlands, a son of A. William and Margareta Wagenaar Reyns, where he lived until he was five. He moved with his family to the United States and lived in Ogden for the majority of his life. Bill married Ruth Marion Charlesworth on August 31, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ruth preceded him in death on October 15, 2006. He worked as a painting contractor and owned his own business, Bill Reyns and Son. After retiring he continued to manage a 23 apartment complex for an additional 20 years. He was a man of great integrity and honesty both in his business and his personal life. Bill was a member of the Ogden Golf and Country Club and the Elks Lodge. He loved to fish in Island Park, Idaho, Yellowstone, and Alaska. He also played golf on good weather days and on bad weather days he played cards with his close friends. Bill enjoyed playing the violin and harmonica. He had such a good sense of humor and cheerful attitude towards life that he was a joy to be around. Surviving are one son and two daughters, Alan William (Janet) Reyns, Shannon (Leonard) Hoskins, Ruth (Mike) Ayers, and son-in-law, Terry VanVleet, all of Ogden; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Margie R. (Jesse) Godfrey, Bountiful. Preceding William in death were his parents, his beloved wife Ruth, and his daughter Judi VanVleet. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Email condolences to the family at www.lindquistmortuary.com
