Mark Grimmett Whinham

Mark Grimmett Whinham passed away Sunday August 19, 2018.

He was born April 4, 1955 in Ogden, Utah to James Jesse and Marilyn Grimmett Whinham.

He married Karen Bowers on September 4, 1974; together they had three children. They later divorced.  On December 4, 1986, Mark married Eileen Perry in Ogden, Utah.

Mark Whinham spent a lifetime serving the people of Roy City and the surrounding area, as a Roy City Firefighter\EMT where he retired as a captain, in his spare time he started a successful Carpet Cleaning and Flood Restoration Company which he was not only the owner but the operator.  Mark treated all his clients with respect and integrity.  His honest straight forward business style allowed him to operate for 20 years with little to no advertising.

Through this example he guided his family and taught life lessons. He was a dedicated husband who loved his wife Eileen, together they raised 6 children, and in return was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Mark loved all his children and adored his grandchildren.  He was never too busy to lend a hand to his family, friends and neighbors sharing his talents and time.

Mark will be greatly missed we find comfort in knowing he that he was active and engaged to the very end.

Mark is survived by his wife, Eileen; five sons, Jeffery (Joanel), James (Kadee), Kenneth, AJ, Bentley, one daughter, Staciann (Daniel) Duitsman; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his mother, Marilyn; two brothers, Michael, and Gregory (Kristan); and one sister, Jill (Lyle) Braithwaite. He was preceded in death by his father, James, and daughter-in-law, April Whinham.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Hooper Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Friday, August 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
