J. Lynn Vaughn

March 5, 1951 ~ April 30, 2015

J. Lynn Vaughn, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 30, 2015. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed greatly.

Lynn was born on March 5, 1951 to Velma Anna Bartlett and Roy Fife Vaughn. He graduated from Roy High in 1969 and Weber State College in 1978

He married his high school sweetheart, Vicky Lee Rose on February 16, 1973 in the Ogden LDS Temple. They have five children and nine grandchildren.

Lynn retired from the Salt Lake County IT Department in June 2014.

Family was of the utmost importance in Lynn’s life. Whenever it came to his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, or sisters he was always there. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family; 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, gardening, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren dance, cheer, play softball and rodeo.

Lynn is survived by his wife Vicky, their children Kari (Travis) Engelke, Stacie (Zach) Glover, Trent (Melissa Ratcliffe, fiancée), Holly (Daniel) Tensmeyer, and Jana (Chad) Moore. He is also survived by his brother Gary, John “Kip” (Christine), Delane (Lorrie) and his sisters Sharon (Reed) Flinders and Margaret (Lee) Sundgren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1781 Combe Road.
