Cameron B. Carson

A True Original

Go Big or Go Home

Cameron Carson was born in Salt Lake City, UT on August 5, 1974 and died unexpectedly July 3, 2021 as he fought a valiant fight through a brief illness. He resided in Clinton, UT for the past 20 years where he lived his best life.

Once you met him, you never forgot him. Cameron’s presence was one not to be forgotten and was felt the minute he entered a room. He was quick of wit with a brilliant mind. Cameron was always the life of the party and was super competitive while playing games with family and even going to extremes to win the prize. He bonded with his many nieces and nephews and they loved to be around him.

Cameron loved sports and was an avid sports enthusiast. He especially loved baseball. He knew all sports trivia and excelled at every sport he tried. He also spent a lot of his time collecting autographs. He has been an avid autograph collector since the age of 15. He said he loved the “thrill of the chase” and prized many autographs including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Arnold Palmer and every top name in every sport. He didn’t discriminate against anyone who was collectable along with many Presidents, the Dalai Lama, every country, pop, rock, jazz, rap, and all other various artists and authors. If they were famous or noteworthy, he was sure to meet them. Cameron also enjoyed all things involving history and old movies. He had a special interest in antiques from around Utah and recently started restoring antique bicycles. Cameron loved to be eccentric with his accessories, he loved watches, clothing, shoes (size 14) and electronics. He was an ice cream addict and would take the family for a weekly trip to Farr’s. Everyone knew his favorite flavors. He was unconventional and gutsy, a true mountain of a man who strutted his stuff and accomplished anything he set his mind to. He was a great speaker, teacher, and a passionate soul who had a very deep love and testimony of the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He served a mission in Florianopolis, Brazil, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1994-1996. He loved the people there and they loved him back. The Florianopolis airport was packed with people at his departure: those he taught and loved. He has used his Portuguese and Spanish language skills all throughout his life. He attended and graduated from Skyline High School and went on to attend college at BYU Idaho (Ricks College) and the University of Utah graduating with his Bachelor’s degree in History. He enjoyed working his current job at Discover Bank and enjoyed working in his position as an Associate within the Executive Office of Customer Advocacy.

Cameron loved his family and cherished them the most. Heidi was the love of his life and together they blended a family in June of 2007 and raised their three boys in Clinton, UT. and later added two more beautiful daughters to the family. They were recently sealed on May 7, 2021 in the Ogden, Utah Temple for time and all eternity. He took time for his daughters whenever they needed him at the drop of a hat. He made sure they had the best of everything and spoiled them with all the extras. He was the best Daddy and Husband. His big bear hugs will especially be missed. Cameron is so loved and there is now a huge void without him. Family gatherings will never be the same.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Heidi; children, Jari Carson, Braiden Barlow, Finlay Carson, Brynn Carson and Bailee Carson, his mother and step-dad, Kim and Steve Radford (Salt Lake City, UT), his sister, Heather Cox, his wife’s parents, Ron and Francine Waite (Roy, UT); his wife’s siblings, Michelle (Tod) Spendlove, Curtis (Alicia) Waite, Dustin (Alyson) Waite, beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Michael and beloved grandma Olga Zdunich.

A celebration of Cameron’s life will be held on Friday, July 9th 2021, with a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2841 West 1300 North, Clinton, UT with a viewing prior from 9-9:45 a.m.
