Donald A Brown, 88, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 13, 2017.  He was born on August 19, 1928 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Joshua (Ted) & Rose Andrus Brown.  He grew up in Draper, Utah and graduated from Jordan High school. He served an LDS mission in the Western States mission. He served in the US Marine Corps stationed at El Toro, Santa Ana California.

While in California, he met his sweetheart of 62 years, Joan Fife. They were married on January 5, 1955 in the St. George LDS Temple. They have five children.

Don graduated from the University of Utah and Long Beach State College with his master’s degree in education. While at the U, he was very active in speech and debate, student government and he was President of Delta Phi. He taught English at Costa Mesa High school and ESL Santa Ana College. He was also a Professor at Weber State College. He was passionate about English and worked as a technical writer for the government and as an editor for the LDS Church.

Perhaps his greatest joy was working at Disneyland for 29 years. This work left his family with stories and a love for all things Disney that will entertain for generations to come.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and gave a lifetime of service in his ward and stake callings and in his neighborhood. His faith was evident in the way he supported others. His hobbies were stamp and coin collecting and landscaping and caring for his yard. He was a gentle, kind man, and a loving father and husband that will be missed.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gloria Buck. He is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Debbie Comstock (Russ), Carol Sanders (Larry), Brad Brown (Deborah), April Cooley (Cal), and Greg Brown (Lisa); 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Elden, Reid and Ruel Brown.
