Anna Louise Bristol Blanchard
Anna Louise Bristol Blanchard, age 88, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at her home in Layton, Utah.
Born December 29, 1928, in Bluebell, Utah, to Stanley Christopher Bristol and Violet Elizabeth Bird. She was the second daughter and second of eleven children.
She married Arlo Wiley Blanchard of Monarch, Utah, on December 16, 1946. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple May 27, 1947. She lived in Bluebell, Monarch, Benjamin, Roosevelt, Salt Lake City, Kearns, and Layton, Utah.
Louise celebrated her 88th birthday, and Arlo his 90th birthday, and their 70th wedding anniversary with their family and friends in January.
They were blessed with five children; David Wiley (Dorothy) Blanchard, Magna; Violet LaRaine Kearsley, Layton; Vickey Willard (Charlie Clark), West Valley City; Arlene Kathy Nott, West Haven; Mark Bryant (Leah) Blanchard, Layton.
Louise was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved being a Temple worker and greeting members as they entered Sacrament Meeting. She enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places. She loved to dance and play hand and foot. Her passion in life was oil painting and she got a lot of pleasure from giving the paintings to her children to display in their homes. She loved gardening and decorating her yard with lawn and garden ornaments. She learned to work hard while growing up on a farm and sharing in all the responsibilities to feed and care for a family of 13. She loved doing genealogy and keeping record of family members.
She is survived by her sweetheart Arlo and sister Julia and brother Louis, all her children and their spouses. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, two sisters, one son-in-law, one great-granddaughter, and many loved extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
